Shell size to 13 mm; shell fusiform, thin-walled but strong. Whorls angled at periphery, shoulder straight. Sculpture of 8-12 axial ribs more prominent on periphery; spiral sculpture of alternating weaker and stronger cords. Stronger cord along periphery. Aperture elongate, less than ½ shell length, anterior canal broad. Color dirty-white with light-brown or grayish specks. The shell in the illustration was collected in 1969, by Dale V. Stingley, at Pine Island Sound, on the Sanibel side.
