Shell size to 25 mm; shell elongate, inequivalve, irregularly shaped. Posterior region usually wider than anterior. Postero-dorsal margin concave. Umbo anterior. Shell nacreous, translucent-brownish. Found in sponges or attached by thin byssal thread to other shells.
