Polycera hummi

Humm Polycera

Size to 20 mm. Body elongate, background color brownish-gray, with darker brown specks. Appendages with bands of three distinct colors, top dark-blue, middle yolk-yellow, and bottom light-blue. Rhinophores lamellate. Found living on bryozoans of the genus Bugula. The individual in the main image was found by Rebecca Mensch on Sanibel in 2016; the one in the supplementary photo was found by Amy Tripp off Marco Island in February 2020. All images by José H.
