Sponsored Field Trips
Our donor-funded Adopt-A-Class program brings Lee County 4th graders from Title I schools to the Museum for a fun, educational field trip at no cost to the school. Students explore our Exhibit Hall, touch local mollusks in our live touch pools, and make a piece of shell art to take home.
Information:
-
Field trips are available Monday through Thursday from September through December, and during the month of May. Mollusks on the Move is available the rest of the year.
-
Students are picked up from school at 9:30am and returned to school at 1:30pm.
-
The Museum covers the cost of your school bus, but teachers are responsible for making transportation arrangements with their school or the Lee County School District Transportation Department.
-
Please make sure your students pack lunches.
-
You may bring one chaperone per class. Additional chaperones pay $12 each.
-
Chaperones are expected to manage participant behavior and stay with the group at all times as they move around the Museum.
-
There will not be time for students to shop in the Museum Store.
-
Each student is required to write a thank-you note to the donor who funded their experience. We believe it’s important to learn how to say thank you, and donors love them!
