Slipper snails (family Calyptraeidae) are often neglected by beachcombers and shell enthusiasts. Accordingly, here are the slipper snails you may find on the coast of Southwest Florida, including Sanibel and Captiva islands: 1 – Spiny Slipper Snail (Bostrycapulus aculeatus); 2 – Circular Chinese Hat (Calyptraea centralis); 3 – Black-foot Slipper Snail (Crepidula atrasolea); 4 – Depressed Slipper Snail (Crepidula depressa); 5 – Common Atlantic Slipper Snail (Crepidula fornicata); 6 – Spotted Slipper Snail (Crepidula maculosa); 7 – Little Speckled Slipper Snail (Crepidula ustulatulina).

The individual shell photos are not at the same scale. And, as usual, click on each scientific name to see the relevant entries and the differences among them in our Southwest Florida Shells guide.

The snails here are so beautiful, I hope these snails will not harm the plants. retro games
It's fascinating how there’s so much variety in the slipper snail species along the coast of Southwest Florida! I love how this connects to the idea of biodiversity, which could also relate to pediatric nursing dissertation topics. For instance, just as these snails play a unique role in their ecosystem, pediatric nurses have a unique role in addressing the diverse health needs of children. Research on pediatric care, from developmental issues to managing chronic conditions in children, can be just as varied and vital to improving outcomes for young patients.
