We look forward to welcoming you to the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum!

To maintain caution and care for visitors, staff, and volunteers, the Museum has in place the following guidelines:

  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the Museum, and surfaces such as credit card pads, door handles, and elevator buttons are cleaned and disinfected regularly.

  • Vaccinated guests are not required to wear masks.

  • Visitors are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and use the Museum’s water-filling station.

  • A vending machine (cash only) is onsite with snack items and beverages.

  • Pets are not allowed inside the Museum, but service animals are. Service animals as defined by the ADA are dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.
