COVID-19 Information

We take the safety of our staff, volunteers and guests seriously. As a precautionary measure to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum is temporarily closed to visitors until further notice.

We understand that this closure is an inconvenience. But our priority is the health of our staff, volunteers, guests and the Sanibel and Captiva community that has supported the Museum for 25 years. We are following national guidelines on social distancing to help reduce the impact of this illness.

During the closure, a limited number of staff will maintain the building’s operation and ensure the welfare of our animals.
