Volunteers, who are wintertime or year-round residents, come from throughout Lee and Collier counties. They range from casual collectors of seashells to scientists who are experienced in the field of malacology. All have an abiding interest in the Museum and its mission. More than a dozen Sanibel School students are also actively involved as junior docents. Positions for volunteers include exhibit hall docents, school and adult group tour docents, slide show lecturers, Collections Department assistants, and Museum Store salespeople. New volunteers are always welcome. For further information, contact Dr. José H. Leal by calling 239/395-2233 or 888/679-6450. The fax number is 239/395-6706 and e-mail address is: jleal@shellmuseum.org |
