The Nautilus is a peer-reviewed journal publishing articles on diverse aspects of the biology, ecology, and systematics of mollusks. Established in 1886 as The Conchologists Exchange, The Nautilus is one of the most traditional international journals in the field of malacology. It is a non-profit journal published by a non-profit organization, The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum. Although the journal has been traditionally supported solely by subscriptions and page charges, in 1999 it started benefiting from part of a general support grant from Florida State's Division of Cultural Affairs to the Museum. The Nautilus is indexed in Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts, Biological Abstracts, Current Contents, Zoological Record, BIOSIS, and Science Citation Index. Issues comprising one year/volume are published in March, June, September, and December. Subscription rates are $47 for individuals, $80 for institutions. Overseas subscribers pay additional $10 (regular mail) or $25 (air delivery). Back issues are available from volume 101 (1987) for $20 each issue plus applicable shipping. Discounts will be given for large purchases of back issues.
