Mollusks in Action
Mollusks in Action was produced to introduce people of all ages to the intricate lives of mollusks. It focuses on the anatomy of gastropods and bivalves, their methods of locomotion,
what they eat, and how they protect themselves and reproduce.
Discover the various methods that mollusks use to move from one place to another. Some glide on their muscular foot, some hop around like pole-vaulters, while others are literally jet propelled.
Observe their methods of feeding. Some mollusks filter plankton out of the water for their nutrition, and others are vegetarians grazing on plant life. Many are carnivorous and will even eat each other.
Watch as females lay egg capsules containing hundreds of eggs. See the eggs inside these capsules and marvel at the size of a newly hatched baby mollusks.
The film is divided into chapters, enabling the viewer to watch the video in its entirety or as individual chapters.
